What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is an ancient form of energy healing brought to the United States in the early 1930s by Dr. Mikao Usui. A trained practitioner guides the flow of energy by placing hands just off the body or lightly touching the body in orer to help the body heal itself and improve over all well-being.

What may I expect during a Reiki session: 

Adriana Royal offers private reiki sessions.  She will guide the flow of energy through your body while you are in a seated or supine position.  Hands are held over the body or lightly touching the fully-clothed body. Adriana KowalAdriana Royal, M.A. M.A. holds two Masters Degrees in philosophy and has taught courses at Loyola University Chicago and Marquette University.  She has studied the role of vulnerability and embodiment from a theoretical perspective, and has become increasingly inspired by a holistic approach to understanding the body through the art of medicine.  She is a certified practitioner of reiki, is a sound healer, meditation instructor, and a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
